they have talent, their music just isn’t the best. They could do a lot better than generic teenage pop music; if they stopped singing about wanting girls and throwing parties and moved to more serious topics more people would probably like them..and they’d have a way better fanbase. (“Directioners” are annoying as hell.) So yeah, they can sing live really well (ever heard Liam Payne singing? he’s incredible) and they all have great voices, it’s just a huge disappointment that they’re doing meaningless music. They could do better, they just get those songs written for them. 

Also, this is unrelated buuut everyone should stop trying to compare them to the Beatles. They’re two different bands, different kinds of music, and you can’t compare a two-year-old boy band to a band as iconic as the Beatles. I’m a fan of both, yeah, but they’re nowhere close to the Beatles. At all.

And if you haven’t realized who that is, it’s One Direction. (:
